AquaPalooza! It must be summer at The Marina Hindmarsh Island

Aquapalooza 2010 The Marina Hindmarsh Island
Sea Ray AquaPalooza, Australia’s largest on-water mosh pit, will set the scene for a hot summer at The Marina Hindmarsh Island these holidays as about 3000 people party both in and out of the water at the free event.

The coolest party in town will be held on Thursday 30 December, attracting plenty of boats and thousands of people grooving to the tunes of party band The Flaming Sambucas and DJ Roxy.

'Forget New Year’s as the biggest party of 2010, the AquaPalooza is bigger and better modelled on the Texas event that attracts 75,000 people and 7000 boats,' The Marina Hindmarsh Island’s Chief Executive Andrew Chapman says.

'Last year we had about a thousand people dancing and chilling out on boats, in the water and on the beautiful lawned and shady areas abutting the marina and this year we’re expecting numbers to triple as word of the coolest place to be this summer spreads.'

Along with the AquaPalooza, The Marina Hindmarsh Island has plenty of activities to keep kids and adults happy this summer holidays including a kayak hire service and scenic helicopter rides over the Coorong, Murray Mouth and beyond.

With numerous trails throughout The Marina now linking up with the Encounter Way which stretches along the coast to Victor Harbor, there are also plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking and roller blading while Hindmarsh Island is popular with bird watchers who come to see the numerous species attracted to The Marina’s lagoon islands.

Tennis courts and barbecue areas, a large shaded playground along with a cafe and a waterfront hotel are also popular drawcards for holidaymakers while Club Marina Holidays provide luxurious self-contained, waterfront holiday accommodation to caters for all budgets.

'With fabulous attractions such as the world-renowned Coorong National Park and the Murray Mouth right on the doorstep as well as incredible beaches, wineries, restaurants and cafes not to mention the boating, fishing, canoeing, birdwatching and cycling trails and walking opportunities, The Marina Hindmarsh Island is the perfect summer holiday destination,' Andrew says.

'Why not come down for a weekend or stay the week and discover why the Fleurieu Peninsula is South Australia’s favourite holiday playground.'

The AquaPalooza is free and open to all boaters and non-boaters. To book a complimentary berth email events@tmhi.com.au before December 28.
