Sunstate Hobie moves into Rivergate

Sunstate Hobie is the latest company to open its doors at Rivergate Marina and Shipyard, just in time for the Christmas rush.

Monday 6th December was their first official day of trading but that didn’t stop Mal Gray and the team selling three Hobies whilst moving in.

'We are very pleased to be part of the Rivergate Marine precinct. It is great to be around boats and be located so close to the river, but more importantly, the ease of access for our main customer base - the population of Brisbane, is already paying off in increased sales. Being just off the Gateway motorway and under the bridge, makes it easy for our customers to find us and get here easily.

Next year is our 20th year in this business. Rivergate is the first step in our business expansion program,' advised Mal Gray, Owner of Sunstate Hobie.

Mal and Trish Gray started the Hobie Cat dealership in 1991 on the Sunshine Coast. The dedicated Hobie Cat dealership lives and breathes the product with Trish and MAl competing at the Club, State, National and World Championship levels in Hobie Cats. The Hobie Cat brand now incorporates kayaks, fishing and peddle kayaks plus paddleboards.

The arrival of Sunstate Hobie means the Refit Complex at Rivergate is now full.

'Busy makes busy. Rivergate has been at capacity in the last 12 months and this activity has attracted more companies like Sunstate Hobie, to the Refit Complex, which in turn keeps the marina and yard thriving,' stated Mr Steve Fisher, General Manager of Rivergate.

Sunstate Hobie at Rivergate represents the full range of Hobie products including the namesake catamarans, paddle, pedal, fishing, and sailing kayaks plus paddleboards not to mention all the bells and whistle accessories.

'We have adjusted our opening hours to allow for traffic conditions. We will open from 9:30am to 6pm Monday through Thursday, 9:30am to 8pm on Friday and 9:30am to 4pm on Saturday,' continued Mr Gray.

Sunstate Hobie is located in Unit 15, Refit Complex, 17 Rivergate Place, Murarrie. 'It is great to see a well known brand like Hobie in the complex and Rivergate welcomes sucessful operators, Mal and Trish Gray, to the team!' continued Mr Fisher.
