The New Hanse 495 will make its World Premiere at boot Düsseldorf - 22nd to 30th January 2011.

Hanse's latest interpretation of a fast and elegant family cruiser is ready to be launched. The Hanse 495 is a further development of well known Hanse characteristics and values.

Easy sailing and manoeuvring from the helmsman’s position
Variable interior layout for individual configuration
Innovative technical solutions for sailing and living aboard
Elegant appearance and harmonic deck-hull-rig proportions
Hanse Smart Mooring System, docking by joystick

Visual Concept
Our guidelines for the Judel/Vrolijk & Co Design Office were simple but extremely demanding. The new Hanse 495 should not have too voluminous a hull, but must suit an interior concept which allows an owners cabin with ensuite heads in the bow as well as in the aft section. We also required the possibility for two comfortable double cabins in the bow as a customer option. The saloon and the galley needed to be as generous as possible for a 49 foot yacht.

These guidelines for a flexible and spacious interior in an elegant hull form have been achieved with a careful combination of hull and superstructure geometry, using a moderately formed Usection to the hull structure and a striking coach roof eyebrow design.

The companionway is positioned forward of a protected bridge deck, which provides significant additional under deck space, allowing more freedom for the interior design of the desired cabin layouts.

The combination of four hull windows, characteristic Hanse waterline design and powerful rig creates a refined appearance for this dynamic family cruiser.

Interior Concept
The Hanse 495 interior is new interpretation of the loft style concept that Hanse introduced for series production sailing yachts. Internationaly acclaimed interior designers Birgit Schnaase Interior Design SID have overseen the continued development of this extremely flexible and customisable approach. Highlights are the generous well equipped galley with wide outside seaview, a spacious and airy saloon and the possibility to place the owners cabin with separate heads forward or aft.

The well known Hanse Individual Cabin Concept gives a wide choice of options.

The Hanse 495 has a minimium headroom of 2 meters and a new indirect illumination concept.

Exterior and Sailing Concept
A clear foredeck, open easily accessed coach roof and an extensive protected cockpit area with integrated table all combine to make sailing safe and easy for the crew. A big easy to operate transom door forms an ideal gangway in harbours as well as being the perfect bathing platform.

Extensive storage in the foredeck locker and cockpit lockers, with a dedicated life raft position is a matter of course.
The easy sailing concept has been further developed for the Hanse 495. Naturally all manoeuvres are easily controlled from the helmsman’s position, assisted by electrical winches. The self tacking jib is provided as standard equipment. On customer request this Hanse can be supplied with an easy docking tool on board for stress free mooring, which moves the yacht under motor power in every direction. Our Hanse 'Smart Mooring System' with bow and sternthruster is the result of extensive studies. It will be available on the Hanse 495 and also on other Hanse models.
