Limited Edition Designer Shirts from Phuket King’s Cup Regatta 2010

This year the Regatta has commissioned Thai-born designer Lisa King to create unique branded shirts re?ecting the spirit of the Phuket King’s Cup. The designs include polo shirts and t-shirts for men and women, and a limited number are available for sale at the Regatta in Phuket from 4 to 12 December 2010.

The designs were inspired by a Thai sailing tradition led by His Majesty the King, himself an accomplished sailor, and feature vintage hues of sun-bleached corals, faded aquas and blues, graphic shapes of billowing sails, and details such as the dates of the Regatta in Thai and English script.

“I’m honoured and delighted to be asked to design for this iconic event since I have attended then sailed in the King’s Cup since I was a little girl. It was fun to create pieces re?ecting the spirit of this Regatta and the amazing colours of the Phuket scenery.” says Lisa.

The shirts are stylish on water and on shore. No surprise, as Lisa graduated from London’s prestigious Central Saint Martins School of Art of Design. She is now a Freelance Designer based in London, working with names such as Calvin Klein, Issa, Diane von Furstenburg and Kylie Minogue.

The shirts are made in Thailand and showcase the capabilities of local manufacturers in making custom quality sailing clothing.

The shirts are available at the Regatta’s headquarters at Kata Beach Resort and Spa in Phuket.
