Discount deadline for Turkey Day Regatta is here Rich Roberts http://www.UnderTheSunPhotos.com
Turkey Day Regatta.

Thanksgiving shopping list: cranberries, pumpkin pie, a big bird --- but wait! All that and more are part of the package at Alamitos Bay Yacht Club's annual Turkey Day Regatta Saturday and Sunday where the entry fees include a turkey dinner Saturday night for every skipper and one crew.

Plus, everyone who files an online entry before midnight Tuesday will get $10 off the entry fee, and on Sunday night all the winners will receive a bonus bird to take home. Sailing for turkeys instead of trophies has been an ABYC holiday tradition since 1948, drawing the largest turnouts of the year of dinghies, keelboats, catamarans and skiffs raced by all generations and genders.

The classes include 8-foot Naples Sabots and Lido 14s on the inside bay and Cal 20 and Olson 30 keelboats and high-performance A-Cats, International 14s, 29er skiffs and Formula 18 catamarans on two courses on the ocean and outer harbor. The competitors come from throughout California, plus other states and foreign countries.

Racing will start at noon each day, conditions permitting.

All classes are scheduled for three races each day.
