Bank Rakyat has stepped forward to liven up the Monsoon Cup by organizing the Monsoon Cup KELAB NURI Colouring Contest for kids.

The Monsoon Cup will be held at the five-star Ri-Yaz Heritage Marina Resort and Spa from November 30 until December 5. In conjunction with the season ending World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) event, there will be a Karnival Monsoon.

Among the activities planned at Karnival Monsoon are 1Malaysia cultural shows, traditional games, Fishing Competition, Rentak Monsoon Cup @ TV9 Concert.

One of the most popular attractions every year is the kids colouring contest. This year, it will be held on December 4 and organized by Bank Rakyat. There also will be a guest appearance by the ever popular cartoon characters Upin and Ipin.

Bank Rakyat is targeting 2,000 participants from their account holders in Terengganu. To participate, account holders need to deposit a minimum of RM20.00 into their savings account and fill in a registration form, which is available at all Bank Rakyat branches in Terengganu. Registration forms will be available from 1st November 2010 and closing date for registration is 4th December 2010.

The colouring contest will be divided into four categories – Category A (Pre-school: 5–6 years), Category B (7–8 years), Category C (9–10 years) and Category D (11–12 years). There are many attractive prizes on offer for the top three winners in each category as well as 10 consolation prizes. Winners will receive cash vouchers from Bank Rakyat, and hampers from our sponsors such as ADABI and SPM Games.

As an incentive to the kids, Bank Rakyat also will be giving away prizes to the 5 Top Savers among the participants. Monsoon Cup chairman, Tan Sri Sabbaruddin Chik was delighted with Bank Rakyat’s participation in the Karnival Monsoon.

“We organize the Karnival Monsoon so that the rakyat of Terengganu can participate and experience the Monsoon Cup. As one of the leading banks in the country, we are indeed proud Bank Rakyat has step forward to be part of the Karnival Monsoon,” said Tan Sri Sabbaruddin.

“The kids colouring contest has always been one of the most popular events and I’m not surprised that Bank Rakyat is targeting 2,000 participants.”

“KELAB NURI Bank Rakyat has always been a strong supporter of the Monsoon Cup. They have been sponsoring the children’s colouring contest since 2008 as they use it as a tool to teach children the value of saving up.

”That is why the prizes are in the form of Nuri cash vouchers. The Nuri Savings Account-i is a smart way for the children to save up for the future,” said a Bank Rakyat spokesperson.

Double Double
And the rest of the line is not toil and trouble, but quadruple, then another double… On the eve of the 100th Fastnet that has attracted some 464 entries, I heard of one entry in this record fleet that seemed so very apt. Not only because it includes the Commodore of the RORC, but because it combines two Brits and two Aussies.
