Australia’s premier marine PR/media specialist Sandman Public Relations has expanded its operations with an office in Sydney led by new partner Jamie Millar.

Millar has joined the team from the yachting sector and was previously brand manager for a major yacht and boat importer. With a wealth of experience in marketing, editing, PR and sales, along with operational experience in yacht charter and technical management, Millar has worked in the high-net-worth marine industry around the world from the Mediterranean and UK to the Caribbean, North America and Australia.

Sandman PR director Ben Sandman said he had been looking for the right person to join the company for some time.

'It’s time to expand the business to cover a more diverse cross section of the marine industry and Jamie is exactly the right person to assist with these plans,' Sandman said.

'His passion for the industry, unique knowledge and senior management experience means we can take Sandman PR to the next level and beyond, which is great news for our current and prospective clients.'

Millar has used PR as a key element of the marketing mix in many roles and has a genuine understanding of how it helps maintain a positive reputation, influence target markets and, most importantly, delivers credible leads to businesses sales teams.

'From within the marine industry it was clear to me that Sandman PR was the leading provider of quality PR and media services, so joining the company as a director was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,' Millar said.

'I’m looking forward to bringing onboard some new and exciting clients and to assisting Ben with the next phase of the business, which has a considerable global focus.'

Sandman PR delivers public relations campaigns, media management, design and digital services. Current marine industry clients include: Honda, Navico, Haines Hunter, Bar Crusher, Emarine Australia and Marine Solutions, among others.
