The Auckland Blokart Club is hosting the NZ Secondary Schools Championships on behalf of the New Zealand Blokart Association (NZBAI) this weekend (30th & 31st of October) at Ardmore airfield. Racing will take place alongside the clubs own club championship event which always produces world class blokart sailing.

Racing is expected to be fast and exciting with the usual Ardmore track extended a further 500m down the runway for this weekend only. The additional 1 km round circut will product high speeds, in some cases up to 35knots, with close quarter racing.

Defending Secondary School Champion Dominic Griffin may not have it all his way this year as most having been training hard over winter, with last years runner up Ben Campbell, and ABC’s Lucy Harrison being consistant improvers.

The Auckland Club Champs looks to be a tight tussell in both the light weight and heavy weight divisions. In twilight racing current World Champion Russell Harray has been put on notice by Wayne 'Mako' Osbourne that he wants his spot at the top. Cam Buttler also appears a strong contender sailing consistantly to push the top two on accumulated points.

Ray Kelly is looking strong in the light weight division after recording two wins and a second in twilight series to dominate the nights racing. However the light weight divison will come down to the wire with Graham Ingall, Barry Cole, Tony Frischer, Ross Vickers and Grant Clark all capable of good results.

The club welcomes all spectators to join us for two days of exciting racing this weekend. Late Entries are also welcome. Racing gets underway at 10:00am each day.
