This month CNN’s MainSail, comes direct from the twenty-first Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Sardinia, where presenter Shirley Robertson is spending time with three individuals and their crews.
American Bill Koch, winner of the America's Cup in 1992 has come back to race with old friends, whilst Sweden's Niklas Zennström, the co-founder of Skype, is here for the second time to compete with his professional race team on his state of the art sailing machine. Slovenian Igor Simcic is also competing and is on a mission to establish a winning team flying the European flag, having even purchased one of the fastest yachts in the world to do so.
All three men are leading teams and are part of an entry of 49 maxi yachts that add extra glitz and glamour to a place that is already famous for its style - Porto Cervo. MainSail gains access onto their yachts as they compete in some of the best sailing waters in the world in a truly spectacular setting.
