Product of the Week- The Ecowind varying pitch propeller

The result is claimed to be higher top speeds in both calm and rough conditions, significantly lower fuel consumption, extended range under power, better acceleration and much less engine noise at cruising speed due to the lower RPMs.

How does it work?

The Max-Prop ECOWIND propeller by PYI features a cutting-edge patented spring-based technology that adjusts propeller pitch automatically to its optimum position based on load. When the boat accelerates, the pitch flattens to allow the engine RPMs and boat speed to increase rapidly.

As a vessel’s speed progresses, the load on the propeller decreases and the pitch increases. Compared to fixed pitch propellers, the ECOWIND offers greater speed with the same RPMs as well as the same boat speed at a lower RPM.

The ECOWIND propeller features Max-Prop’s renowned automatic feathering design. While underway, each individual propeller blade slices through the water allowing it to feather past, rather than being dragged.

Also known for its reverse efficiency, going from forward to reverse, the propeller rotates the shaft of the blade to provide the same productivity in either direction.
