Superyacht Australia once again had a strong presence at the Monaco Yacht Show and continues to see the show as the most significant event within the Australia Superyacht calendar. The networking and opportunity to catch up with key clients is invaluable and this year proved no different.

Superyacht Australia Chairman David Mc Queen said: 'It is too early to tell the real outcomes for Australia from the show as they tend to come in over the next 6-12 months.

'Feedback from a number of superyacht captains was very positive regarding cruising in Australian waters and we received a number of requests for copies of the Great Southern Route.'

Superyacht Base Australia was supported at the show by Dr Nicholas Baker the Australian Trade Commissioner based in Paris. Australian Exhibitors were also invited to both the Captains Party and the Boat International function 2 of the key events held during the show.

While visitor numbers to the show were strong, it appeared however that a large number of visitors were at the show to sell to exhibitors, as opposed to wanting to buy.

The Australian companies visiting or exhibiting at the show with Superyacht Australia were:
Ocean Media, VEEM Propellers, Coursemaster Autopilots, Hydrive Engineering, Muir Winches, Refit Australia, Azzura Marine, McConaghy Boats, EMP Composites, Rivergate Marina and Sydney Superyacht Marina.

The prize draw offered by Superyacht Australia and targeted to Superyacht Captains, sponsored by Etihad Airlines, was won by the Captain of Roma, Mr Olaf Steckstor of Germany. Olaf won two return business class tickets on Eithad Airlines from Paris to Australia. He was ecstatic with his win and was hoping to take up the trip in Feb 2011.
