PLATU 25-Settimana Internazionale Punta Ala - Platu 25 Italian Championship Sabrina Bonaiti
The most important Platu 25 Italian event will take place in Porto Santo Stefano waters, in Tuscany, from the 30th of September to the third of October.

After the prestigious appointment in Monopoli, in Puglia (South Italy), last year, where 'Nanuk' became the 2009 Italian Champion, an exiting challenge between 'Nanuk' and 'Brera' is expected in Porto Santo Stefano.

More than twenty boats are already registered. Among them, there will be very competitive boat such as 'Di Nuovo Simpatia' armed by Fernando Dandini de Sylva, 'Les Freres' of Gianluca Conti, '3F Fight For Fighting' armed by Tommaso De Bellis and 'Jerry Speed' of Livia Federici.

There will be also, as already said, 'Nanuk' armed by Giancarlo Catalano and the 'Brera Hotel' team of Wolleb and Vitrano, backed by the Platu 25World Championship in Alicante, where they were disqualified from their position (11th in the general ranking list and first of the Italian teams). 'Euz II' also will take part to the event in Porto Stefano. They were a real surprise in the World Championship in Alicante (13th in the general ranking list).

A special mention is for the 'Aria – Amica Vela ASD' team, that brought AIDO (Associazione Italiana dei Donatori di Organi , Blood Donors Italian Association )as a Platu 25 World Championship's sponsor in Alicante. AIDO will also take part in the Platu 25 Italian Championship. The Platu 25 class decided to give more visibility to AIDO. This association, indeed, promotes the organs transplant and save millions of lives, often allowing athletes to come back practicing sport.

The Italian Championship, organized with the cooperation of the Circolo Velico Canottieri Santo Stefano and with the support of the Monte Argentario Municipality, will be hosted by the Yacht Club Santo Stefano.

The YC Sport Director Marco Poma, is very satisfied: 'This year our Yacht Club will have its 50th birthday. So we are really happy for having the Platu 25 Italian Championship here. That's the best way to celebrate. I used to be a Platu 25 owner and I like this kind of boat very much. I appreciate also the high level of the Platu 25 class.

Concerning the regatta field, it's pretty technical. The vantage is that it is protected by strong winds. We have always fun , sailing here, because it's windy but without wave. By the way, it's also technical because the wind changes direction when you go closer to the land'.
