Henri Lloyd launches Summer collection in glitterati style at Audi Hamilton Isalnd Race Week 2010 Fran Burke
At Audi Hamilton Island Race Week fashion and high performance sailing came together in a glitterati event for the launch of Henri Lloyd’s Spring Summer 2010 Lifestyle and Marine collection.

Held in the stunning foyer of the new Hamilton Island Yacht Club, the venue heaving with Australia’s best regatta sailors and stiletto clad celebrity A-listers including the much anticipated arrival of Dannii Minogue, partner and international model Kris Smith and their seven week old baby. Mark Beretta from Sunrise, Erika Heynatz, shoe queen Terry Biviano, fashion designer Gail Elliott all sitting front row with Getaway’s Kelly Landry emceeing the event – it truly was a star studded evening.

Henri Lloyd flew in Sydney celebrity stylist Ken Thompson to create a runway masterpiece teaming the latest Henri Lloyd lifestyle collection inspired by the playground of the rich and famous, Monaco, with authentic marine performance gear. The collection further cemented Henri Lloyd’s position as the world’s leading marine garment designer and showcased the huge range that now makes up the whole brand. Guests were dazzled at the gorgeous but very wearable outfits on display.

And who better to take to the runway alongside the stellar professional female models than Australia’s elite sailors from top competing yachts such as Wild Oats X, XI and Loki. The sailors proved that with a bit of Dutch courage and a unique rustic marine swagger they could compete with the best on the catwalk. Loud cheers from the excited crowd lining the huge curved stairway of the yacht club foyer could be heard every time a sailor took to the runway. With poses that would make Zoolander proud and a natural flair to entertain the sailors stole the show!

Brightly coloured flowering headpieces adorned the swim wear clad models and shell necklaces and stacked bangles styling up Henri Lloyd’s latest 50’s inspired summer dresses. The runway collection beautifully presenting the current worldwide trend of maritime chic teamed with Henri Lloyd’s signature classic nautical style.

Directly after the parade the much anticipated winner of the Henri Lloyd Sponsorship for a Year Crew Kit worth $10,000 was drawn. The lucky winner, Clifford Fairbrass from Sinewave, jumped out of his seat with such enthusiasm and sheer joy that the crowd erupted with applause. He then took to the runway yelling out 'I love Henri Lloyd!' while striking a model like pose. Needless to say the whole of the crew were very excited and cannot wait to claim the prize of crew kit worth $10,000.

The winning crew will be kitted out in the latest Henri Lloyd marine performance wear to the value of $10,000 including the TP2 Ventura Jacket and Coastal Hi-Fits trousers and high performance Fast Dri garments from the Atmosphere 360 range. They will also feature in national advertising and public relations campaigns for Henri Lloyd, receive the title of Henri Lloyd brand ambassadors and fly the Henri Lloyd flag and logo with pride on their boat throughout the year.

Henri Lloyd are proud supporters of Australian sailing and Australian sailors and are now the official clothing partners of Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta, Audi Victoria Week and Audi Sailing Sport. Fran Burke, Henri Lloyd Australian Business Manager, commented 'we are really pleased to be able to present this prize here at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week as it a great thing to be able to give back to the local sailing fraternity. And fingers crossed that we will be able to do it all again next year!'

Henri Lloyd’s latest Spring-Summer 2010 collection is inspired by the timeless style of the glam seaside town of Monaco. The collection presents sophistication with a touch of frivolity synonymous with Riviera chic. Drawing inspiration from the yachting culture of Monaco, Henri Lloyd celebrate their links with the nautical fashion culture of yesteryear, whilst remaining true to their quintessentially British heritage and sense of design.

The nautical heritage of the brand is highlighted through design details and decorative additions. Embroidered crests and nautically inspired fastenings adorn classic styled blazers, perfectly fusing a British heritage with a technically innovative design approach, this styled with flashes of trigger colours encapsulates the ‘Prep - Tech’ story.

Henri Lloyd is the world’s premier technical marine garment brand, having established over the last five decades a formidable global reputation for innovative design and quality in sailing clothing. They are at the forefront of sailing, from the high performance super maxi’s such as Australia’s Wild Oats X and XI and Britain’s America’s Cup Teams, Team Origin to champion sailors such as Ben Ainslie CBE, Shirley Robertson OBE and yachting legends such as Sir Robin Knox.
