PredictWind is showing a wind forecast of 20-25knots westerlies (with gusts over 30knots) for this weekends 100mile race of the SSANZ 2 handed series.
The PredictWind online weather routing shows the first leg to Little Barrier will be a reach in 20-25knot Westerly, which will make for a quick start to the race. From there it downwind to Channel Island, and a reach to Ganet Rock. The tactical part of the race will be the upwind leg from Ganet Rock to the finish at Orakei Wharf, taking Motutapu/Rangitotoe to Port.
PredictWind shows the fastest course for both model forecasts that PredictWind operate. The big tactical call will be to go inside or outside Rakino, and whilst this is uncertain with a forecast two days out from the event, the update routing on the day will give PredictWind customers a clear indication to get an edge over their competitors.
