Laser World Championships Masters - Preparation work is in full swing for the second stage at Hayling Island Sailing Club (HISC). The Masters Championships will take place at the club, starting with the practice race on Sunday, 12 September, followed by the official opening reception. Racing will start on Monday 13 September with two races per day for both the Radial and Standard fleets, finishing on Sunday 19 September with the Prize Giving and party.
Charter boats have been prepared and registration/measuring will commence at 14:00 on Friday 10 September. Members will notice some changes on the north side of the clubhouse, where a giant marquee has been erected on the Flying 15 boat park to provide additional facilities for the event.
Over 350 competitors from 30 countries are taking part in the Standard and Radial fleets racing for seven championship titles. Two in the standard Laser - Apprentice (aged 35 - 44) and Master (aged 45 - 54). And four in the Radial Laser - Apprentice (aged 35 - 44) Master (aged 45 - 54), Grand Master (aged 55 - 64) and Great Grand Master (aged 65+).
