As son of the designer Knud Olsen I hereby announce:
The OK dinghy designer Knud Olsen quietly passed away in his hometown Bandholm yesterday (aug. 31.) at the age of 90.
Since the start of his Boatbuilding / Yachtdesigner career his has designed and built numerous design among these the Nordic Folkboat and famous OK-dinghy, and he has put a massive fingerprint on the Yachting World over half a decade.
Knud Olsen did live a good and meaningful life also after his retirement from the Industry, and he lived to see the OK-dinghy grown to be a strong and durable Worldwide Dinghy Class - even growing in Denmark as the 'Gentlemen's Dinghy Class'.
We will all honour his memory and enjoy all the beautiful Yachts he has created over the years.
Med venlig hilsen / With kind regards

Interview with Knud Olsen in 2008, looking terrific for 88, plus some nice sailing footage from that year's Nordic Champs.
