Qld Beneteau Owners Group
The Queensland Beneteau Owners Group invites all French yachts to join them in the first race of their annual regatta known as the Beneteau Cup, to be held on the 30/31st October.
The French Yacht Challenge, is really a fun race, with both spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions, designed to attract the once a year racers to a weekend of fun food and good company, with a French flavour. It will be a passage race of about 18 miles sailed around southern Moreton Bay, and is designed to be not too challenging for the family and friends that usually crew the boats.
There will be a complimentary croissant and coffee for all participants at the pre-race meeting. (A full sailors breakfast is available for purchase at the RQYS for those who want it.) Finger food and wine will be provided at the post race presentation of trophies, and those who wish can join us for dinner at the RQYS Boardwalk Cafe. (Dinner is at personal cost.)
On Sunday, the Beneteau boats will sail two short windward/return races, and points will be awarded in addition to their points from the Saturday race to count towards the Beneteau Cup.
The Notice of Race is available on the RQYS website,
http://www.rqys.com.au/marine-sports/BENETEAU-CUP/10%20BENETEAU%20CUP-NOR.pdf
and the Sailing Instructions will be posted towards the end of September.
Entries close on Friday 15th October, but we would welcome expressions of interest, and further information is available from Jane Virtue (jane.virtue(at)bigpond.com).
