2010 British Powerboat Festival sponsors RB12.com – promoters of the Round Britain Land, Sea and Air Race 2012 – have introduced a packed programme of family entertainment for the Bank Holiday weekend, including the Red Arrows and a Lynx helicopter display from the Royal Navy.
The Festival – one of the most keenly contested competitions in world motorsport – this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of one of its headline races, the Cowes Torquay Cowes and for both the attending public and international fleet of race boats and crew, the Cowes Yacht Haven will be a hub of activity throughout.
Street entertainment, live music, a food court, stalls and displays will provide an exciting array of off-water highlights for the crowds, which will culminate in spectacular Red Arrows fly-overs on Thursday 26th, Friday 27th and Sunday 29th – the day of the landmark Cowes Torquay Cowes race.
Red Jet high speed ferries are supporting the event with special family tickets available at £26 for adult and child groups of up to four.
'It is our aim to bring even more entertainment to the British Powerboat Festival and to make it a must-visit Bank Holiday attraction,' explains Hugo Ambrose, Director, RB12.com. 'It is already a major sporting event and we believe this year’s additions will make it bigger and even better.'
