Northland Seafood Festival - Party time again - Marsden Cove – Sept 18

by Paul Shanahan and Sail-World on 11 Sep 2010
Northland SeaFood Festival. Marsden Cove www.marsdencove.co.nz

If you enjoy great local wines, seafood, music and love the idea of a fun - filled day out with friends to celebrate the arrival of Spring, Northland’s Seafood Festival at Marsden Cove on Saturday September 18 will be just the ticket. Make up a party and book your tickets before they sell out.

Apart from all the glorious seafood and wines, Marsden Cove will this year rock to the sounds of the highly acclaimed Beat Girls along with local bands Kosher and Camel. Now, if you haven’t had the pleasure of a Beat Girls performance, you're in for a treat. Their performance will have you on your feet as they present a variety of music styles ranging from 1950’ rock ‘n roll to Soul, Motown, disco through to contemporary current day music.

As the organizers say 'be prepared to get up and boogie.' And… be prepared to dress up, as there will be attractive prizes for those who get into the spirit of the festival.

Following the inaugural 2009 seafood festival the organizers have made a number of improvements which include more variety within the music styles, more food and more seating. However, it may still be wise to bring a camp chair just in case the festival meets maximum seating capacity.

Again, the event will showcase the best of Northland’s kai moana (seafood) and wines.

Inside Marsden Cove’s large marquee will be a number of stall - holders offering a range of foods, wines and associated products. The festival is scheduled to begin at 10am and conclude at 5pm

A limited number of corporate tables are available in a special area with prime views of the marina and entertainment stage. Corporate guests will be served a four course degustation lunch serviced by trained waiting staff. Corporate tickets are $150pp

General admission entry tickets $35pp but parties of ten may purchase tickets for $30.

Entry includes a complimentary lanyard wine glass and a fabulous day’s entertainment.
