2010 Muskoka Lakes Association Sailing Regatta Michael Hart
The 2010 MLA Sailing Regatta was hosted by Muskoka Lakes Golf & Country Club (MLG&CC) Sunday August 1st, where over 50 sailors participated in the day, racing in 30 sailboats. A strong audience of race coaches, instructors, parents and other observers watched the racing action. Race day began with a noon Skippers meeting, followed by races for 6 classes of sailboats. The wind was quite light and shifty during the regatta. The awards and trophy ceremony followed the on water activity with gold, silver and bronze medals presented for each class of boats.

The regatta was organized and managed by MLA Muskoka Sailing Network Chairman, Michael Hart. A large team of volunteers participated in running the event, including:
- Andy Cumming, Principal Race Officer
- Charles Gagnon and Lisa Foley, MLG&CC instructors in the Mark Boat
- Kelly Hart, score keeper
- Michele Perras, John Macklem and Les Mason, flags, timing and recorders on the Race Committee boat
- Murray Sarafinchin, Protest Committee Chair
- Lisa Noonan, from the MLA Office managed registration, medals and trophies

The MLA Marine Team provided safety assistance on the race course and Race Committee support. The team included Shawn McNaughton, Greg Allan and John Bowlby.

- Michael Hart for organizing the event, marks, lines, flags and equipment
- Fogh Marine, Robertson & Robertson Yacht insurance and Ontario Sailing for sponsorship
- Mica Wet Suits, Port Sandfield Marina and Gravenhurst Home Hardware who provided buoys, ropes & anchors
- Muskoka Lakes Association for the medals.

Also, our thanks to the Muskoka Lakes Golf & Country Club and their General Manager, Trevor Noonan for use of their facilities, staff and site.

The prestigious Commodore's Cup is awarded to the club with the most first, second and third place finishes and this years' recipient was the South Muskoka Sailing Club.
