Cadet World Championships in Puck, Poland continue to be dominated by Krzysztof Malecki and Mikolaj Mickiewicz (POL 9734). With nine of the 12 race series completed, they are counting five firsts, one second and one third place. 16 points behind are Anton and Julian Sasson (AUS 5509), with Alec and Samantha Bailey (AUS 9778) third on 50 points.
Race eight saw Joris Waller and Alexander Braat (NED 9181) leading at the gybe mark from Aron Bagyo and Luckas Polgar (HUN 9557) and Ian Lee and Alex Brzoska (AUS 4109). Alfonso Bauza de Mirabo and Luis Irisarri (ESP 9652) and Marc Vallespir and Francisco Nunez (ESP 9716) made most of the second beat to close on the leader, but they in turn were overtaken by event leaders Krzysztof and Mikolaj who finished second behind Joris and Alexander.
Third place was taken by Aron and Luckas. Katie Barr and Scarlett Anderson (GBR 8435) finished 14th with Ben Binmore and Martha Jones (GBR 8440), 21st.
Krzysztof and Mikolaj took the gun in race nine from Anton and Julian, with Jackie Stokes and Katie Mullins (AUS 9530) third. Max and Francesca Ingall (GBR 8855) achieved their best result of the week finishing in eighth place, with Henry Mills and Robert Keen (GBR 8845) 18th.
Competition in the Promotional Regatta remains tight with Emil Sawicki and Jakob Niekowal (POL 9848) leading Andrew Smith and Jack Collings (GBR 9243) both on 15 points, with Emil and Jakob ahead on races won. Mary Henderson and Annie Sibthorp (GBR 8561) lie fifth, Alex and Lucy Corby (GBR 9000), seventh and Nick Sutton and Charlie Barr (GBR 8844), ninth.
