Australia's largest boat show has begun, with a new layout, larger space, polished exhibits and a buzz like the boom times.
Moving around the halls and marina, it's obvious exhibitors have dug deep and got creative with their displays and commitment to promoting their brands this year. First timers, old hands, lifestyle and marine have invested heavily in display merchandising and promotional tools for this year's event.
Dometic-Waeco has taken twice the space of last year, and has decked out this extra floor area with sharp displays, cleverly arranged products and high-tech lighting - there's even the sophisticated touch of a vase of lillies, reminiscent of the effort taken at European motor shows.
The BIA NSW has arranged all state and national maritime services, safety, Life Saving and its Boating Discovery Centre in a 'Marine Precinct' with a Village feel. 'It's the centre of education and support,' explains Domenic Genua. 'Justin and James will be manning the stands over the next few days, showing kids how to be 'Water Wise' and get their passports to collect safety information and win prizes.'
More coverage of the show this afternoon and tonight, following the AIMEX Awards.
