Bavaria Cruiser 55 set for Australian debut at Sydney Boat Show

Bavaria Cruiser 55 - Farr Yacht Design influence is clear Stephen Hosking
North South Yachting, Australian importer of Bavaria Yachts, is proud to announce the Australian debut of the Bavaria Cruiser 55 at the 2010 Sydney International Boat Show.

The Cruiser 55 is the largest of the range designed by Farr Yacht Design and BMW Designworks USA (a subsidiary of the BMW Group). As anticipated, the Farr Design influence is clear with a beam carried well aft, a deep, slender keel, tall rig with large mainsail and smaller jib and distinctive twin rudders.

In early test-sails, the Cruiser 55 has proven herself to be perfectly balanced, effortless to handle and superbly quick at every wind level. Acceleration feels instantaneous and the yacht responds quickly to gusts which are easily managed through the responsive rudders. Sailing angle upwind is also impressive with recorded angles of 35 degrees with an 8.5 knot boat speed in approx 14 knots of wind. This model is a sure-footed cruiser that will also appeal to the burgeoning Bavaria 'race-a-cruiser' community through her in-built performance ethic.

The Cruiser 55 has been created to deliver an exceptional standard of luxury and comes with a choice of three, four or five cabins. The saloon is spacious and can easily seat eight around the table while the large galley with central island and full sized fridge/freezer will cater for all occasions. With a light and airy interior and headroom of 2.06m, internal space is plentiful. The forward master stateroom in the owner's version is very large and features a king-sized bed, full walk-in closet, large bathroom and separated shower room.

Bavaria Yachts continue to invest upwards of €50m in design and manufacturing process, raising the stakes in the production yacht market by delivering even higher quality at the most competitive price. The very best marques in luxury lifestyle are German engineered and the Bavaria Cruiser 55 is the epitome of this in every way.

The Cruiser 55 will be on display at the Sydney International Boat Show alongside the Cruiser 45 and Cruiser 32. The show runs from 29 July to 02 August.

The Bavaria Cruiser 55 is available sail away from $597,176 incl. GST.
