Chester Race week is looming up on the horizon and with it comes events of interest to the many sailors in the area. The Principle Race Officer, Andreas Josenhans will conduct free seminars during the Chester Race Week for the racing crews and other sailors. The seminars are entitled 'Winning Ways' and will be held at the Chester Yacht Club on Thursday August 12th and Friday August 13th at 9:30am.
'This is another example of how Chester Race Week, August 11th to 14th, is expanding its mandate to be not only the largest keel boat regatta in Canada, but also the best gathering place for those interested in sailing' said Randy Stevens, Rear Commodore of the yacht club.
Andreas is a world class sailor and skipper with considerable experience, including, the America's Cup 15 Olympic class championships, and the recently sailed Newport to Bermuda race, to name just a few.
He will share information on how to get the best start, weather and weather analysis, about arbitration and protests, and the proper use of VHF radio. Andreas will be happy to answer any questions regarding how to sail and win.
This is a unique opportunity for those interested in sailing and yacht racing to learn from one of the best and most experienced yacht racing personages. There are no fees and the seminars are open to all.
