Marine Industry Opportunity with Burke Marine

by Media Services on 12 Jul 2010
Burke Marine www.burkemarine.com.au
Burke Marine has now been employing a team of people for nearly 40 years and are proud to say that many staff have been with them for literally decades.

So it was a sad farewell to say goodbye to retiring Pauline Thomas this month after close to 15 years as part of the Burke Marine working family.

Many of the Burke Marine customers would remember Pauline as the bright and cheerful person on the end of the phone and the helpful and friendly face to greet them at the head office in Rydalmere.

Before joining Burke Marine, Pauline worked at the Berowra Waters Marina and so has extensive knowledge of the industry and many connections within the marine trade. Her husband, Jeff Thomas is also well known around the waterfront and currently manages the RPAYC boatyard in Pittwater.

The team at Burke Marine and our customers will miss Pauline and wish her all the best, however her retirement has opened up an administration/sales position at their head office.

Priding themselves on good working marine and sailing knowledge, Burke are looking for a new person to join the force and contribute the next stage of knowledge and service to the company.

Responsibilities would include bookkeeping, data processing, customer service, back office support for the Henri Lloyd retail stores and frontline support for the sales and marketing team.

Attention to detail a must and good computer knowledge important but will train the successful applicant in SAP Business One (prior knowledge of this system a benefit). Sailing and boating knowledge an advantage.

Burke Marine are a strong Australian family business and therefore understand the need to be flexible on work hours. Ideally the successful applicant would work 3-5 days per week at the Head Office in Rydalmere however details can be negotiated for the right person.

This is an amazing opportunity to join one of Australia’s iconic marine brands with a long and distinguished history in providing high quality, affordable marine clothing and accessories worldwide. To join the team, please send resumes to sales(at)burkemarine.com.au or call 02 9638 4333 for more details.
