Port Credit In-Water Boat Show Celebrates 20 Years - August 27-29

by Heather Robertson on 8 Jun 2010
Always a great time at the Port Credit Boat Show. - 2009 Port Credit In Water Boat Show Heather Robertson
Ontario's premier boat show, the Port Credit In-Water Boat Show is celebrating its 20th anniversary August 27-29, 2010. It will be hosted once again, at the Port Credit Harbour Marina – The Boating Super Centre – in Mississauga, ON.

The Port Credit In-Water Boat Show is the only boat show that features both new AND used power and sail boats in the water and on the hard.

‘This is a boat show for boaters - that is produced by boaters. And we have a boat for everybody's budget.' states Lori Mason, show manager.

Walk the docks at the Port Credit Harbour Marina and see new sailboats from Beneteau, Jeanneau, Delphia, Hansa, J-Boats, Hunter, Dufour, C&C, Tartan and Catalina. On the power side, Sandy Cove Marine will be pre-viewing the Chaparral line and Humber Boats will be returning with the ever-popular ‘eco-boat' - the Humber Foton.

And that's just a few of the boat lines booked to date! Visitors can expect to see many pre-owned boats, as well as a large display of used boat listings from yacht brokerages.

On the hard, will be land displays featuring marine equipment, insurance, finance, charters, sailing schools, boat associations, canvas makers and as well as new products, never before exhibited to the marine industry. Boaters who still need to write the Operator's Proficiency Test, will be able to take the test at the show, with Boat Smart. Discover Boating will on hand to answer any questions about how to get into boating.

Boaters wanting more information about cruising down the Inter-Coastal Waterway, the Caribbean or France can check out the ‘Speaker's Tent' sponsored by Informedboater.com. Informedboater.com has planned a number of exciting seminars, including DIY seminars, that will run the entire show.

Back by popular demand is the CONSIGNMENT TENT sponsored by The Store, Mason's Chandlery. Boaters needing to get rid of gently used boat stuff are invited to bring it to The Store prior to the show. The Store staff sells it on their behalf at the Boat Show consignment tent. Forty percent of the proceeds are donated to local youth sailing programs.

'We've got a few special surprises planned for our 20th anniversary. Last year we sold out of docks and we plan to do the same this year, and enlarge our land display features' reports Mason.
