Sydney City Marine earns Avalanche endorsement

by Jody O'Brien on 26 May 2010
Avalanche - Back in the water Sydney City Marine ..
Readying a boat for sale can be a trying experience, but when you're surrounded by a team of professionals at Sydney City Marine, the stress can be taken out of the equation as you work with an experienced Project Manager to achieve your goals.

With plans afoot to move onto the next adventure, Roger Barr handed over his 53 foot catamaran Avalanche to the Sydney City Marine Team in March this year with a list of jobs to prepare the luxury custom built cruising machine to be in optimum condition for sale.

The work included spray painting, rigging, shipwright, trimming, mechanical, antifouling, detailing and electrical servicing. He was absolutely delighted with the result, and has plenty of good things to share about his Sydney City Marine experience.

'They are truly a team of industry professionals, and not once did I feel the need to step in and roll my own sleeves up – the Project Manager, John Hickey, kept me informed every step of the way' said Mr Barr.

'John draws on years of experience to be able to guide the different services and contractors working on the boat – and he makes valuable educated and informed decisions throughout the job with the best interests of the owner always the number one priority' he said.

'I had complete confidence in everyone I was dealing with at Sydney City Marine – they are all very experienced people who take a great deal of pride in their work. And at the end of the job there were no nasty surprises – the bill was as expected and certainly competitive with other boatyards'.

And he rates Sydney City Marine's facilities as among the best in the world.

'They're certainly on the top of the list on the eastern seaboard of Australia, and the quality of what is available to a boat owner is fantastic – it's a one stop shop for everything in a pristine work environment - I've never seen anything like it anywhere else '.

With the ability to lift vessels of all shapes and sizes, once a boat is out of the water, the focus is on effective management of the time needed to be spent in the facility.

Sydney City Marine offers a complete range of services on site, and with everything and everyone in such close vicinity, what this means for the boat owner, skipper or boat manager is a streamlined approach to managing the job list for their vessel, something Roger Barr felt was a huge benefit.

'There's a very high level of professionalism across the whole business – and this shows in the end result – they strive for quality and customer satisfaction every step of the way' he said.

'I believe that the service and quality of work produced by and at Sydney City Marine is competitively priced in relation to positive flow on to the value of your boat'.

And as a very satisfied client, Roger Barr is happy to recommend Sydney City Marine to fellow boat owners.

'Fantastic facilities backed up with an impressive brains trust of people who deliver great service and quality work
– I was impressed with every aspect of the business' said Mr Barr.
