The Challenger for the 34th America's Cup, Mascalzone Latino from the Club Nautico di Roma dominated the first Match of the La Maddalena round of the Louis Vuitton Trophy.
After an hour's wait for the wind to settle, the first big match of the Louis Vuitton Trophy, Mascalzone Latino against Azzurra, turned into a one-sided with truly no story to tell: Firstly, the team from Porto Cervo received a penalty for entering the starting box too early and then crossed the starting line with a 69-meter deficit. From the first beat already, the 'Rascals' clearly showed their excellent form and managed to defend their lead in all four legs of the race, building up a comfortable advantage that topped 2 minutes and 27 seconds at the finish.
The guest onboad as eighteenth man in the first race was the President of the Club Nautico di Roma, Claudio Gorelli.
