Leopard Catamarans’ new Leopard 38 won the prestigious Asia Boating Award for Best Production Multihull at the 2010 Asian Boating Awards dinner. Asia Pacific Boating and China Boating magazines presented the award during the Gold Coast Hong Kong Boat Show. The annual gala and awards ceremony acknowledges the year’s achievements in Asia’s expanding leisure maritime industry.

This award-winning Robertson and Caine built / Morrelli & Melvin designed Leopard 38 is the latest offering from Leopard Catamarans’ line of exceptional cruising catamarans. Part of TUI Travel PLC’s very successful marine division, Leopard Catamarans boast over 800 vessels built and delivered to-date; making it the #1 selling brand of catamaran in North America. With its recent expansion to China through joint venture Sino Eagle and Leopard, Robertson and Caine and Leopard have significantly increased production capability to satisfy the fast growing Asia Pacific demand for these cats.

Yvan Eymieu, yacht sales manager-Asia for Leopard Catamarans and Franck Bauguil, vice president for Yacht Ownership and Sales of TUI Marine accepted the award on behalf of all of the teams involved in designing, building and marketing the Leopard 38. Gino Morrelli, co-founder of Morrelli & Melvin, Paul Zhao of Sino Eagle Leopard and Will Jelbert, design coordinator for the project in China shared in the evening’s excitement.

Said Gino, 'This is a great acknowledgement of the quality and attention to detail that the Leopard 38 team has achieved. It is especially satisfying that all of the collaboration and hard work on the part of Robertson and Caine, Sino Eagle and Leopard, their joint venture partners in China and Morrelli & Melvin, have succeeded in producing a great cruising boat.'

The trophy will be on display at the Sino Eagle and Leopard offices in Fuyang, China.

On both sides of the Pacific Ocean the Leopard 38, or Sunsail 384 as its branded in the worldwide Sunsail charter fleets, is winning a following among marine industry leaders and the boating community. The Asia Boating Award comes on the heels of being named Boat of the Year in two categories, Best Multihull Cruiser of the Year as well as Best Import Boat of the Year by Cruising World Magazine and Sail Magazine’s 2010 Best Boat Award in the Cruising Multihull category.
