Those wanting the benefits of a luxurious new Maritimo A60E without the hassles and costs of sole ownership can now enjoy the best of both worlds, thanks to Ownaship.

The New Zealand company, which specialises in fully managed fractional boat ownership, is now offering quarter shares in the luxurious new 18.8-m Maritimo for NZ$788,712.

Ownaship managing director Simon Barker says the company is adding the Maritimo to their fleet after demand from both existing and new clients looking for a bigger boat.

“Many of those who can afford a large, luxurious launch like the A60E lead very busy lives. When theyget the time to go boating, they don’t want to waste it on getting the boat ready, cleaning it after a trip and doing maintenance. They also don’t want all the hassles that come with traditional partnerships: people not cleaning the boat properly, having to supervise maintenance schedules, different levels of expectation.

“With Ownaship’s five-star management system those issues simply disappear. When an owner stepson board, the boat is spotless and ready to go. The beds are made, the towels and linen are fresh and properly stowed, the tanks are all full.

“We can even organise tailor-made holiday provisions, arrange for a skipper to be waiting or deliverthe boat to the Bay of Islands if that is want the owners wish.

“Then, when the voyage is over, the owners can simply tie up the boat and walk away. The boat is then valeted and restocked ready for the next destination. We take care of the maintenance, pay the marina fees and insurance and refill the fuel and water tanks.”

Under the popular Ownaship system, owners buy shares in the boat, and pay an annual management fee. The shares, which are an asset and can be sold at any time, entitle the owner to a set number of days on board. These are spread throughout the year in three trimesters.

Ownaship was founded in 2006 and has doubled its fleet in 2009 due to increased demand and popularity. It currently has six boats in its fleet, including recreational power boats and luxury yachts and launches.

The new Maritimo A60E will be spec’d to a very high level with twin 715hp Caterpillar diesels delivering a cruise speed of 25 knots. Also included are air conditioning, a 130lph watermaker, ice maker, Sky distribution on all flat screen TVs, a hydraulic lifting platform, BOSE lifestyle entertainment system and a 4m centre console RIB, complete with 40hp outboard.
