The new Bavaria Cruiser 45 is set for her Australian and Asia Pacific boat show debut at the forthcoming Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, May 20-23. Designed by Farr Yacht Design and BMW DesignworksUSA (a subsidiary of the BMW Group), the new model will set the benchmark in modern, mid-sized production cruisers.

Following on from the success of the Cruiser 55 and Cruiser 32, the 45 continues with exciting new cruising innovations such as the twin rudder system, flush forward decks, deep keel, huge lowerable bathing platform and a modern sail plan. Options include Selden in-mast roller furling mainsail (an increasingly popular choice), high-tech sails, self-tacking jib, three interior wood colour choices and a host of other dynamic features. The choice of layouts is three or four double cabins and the four cabin layout is a flexible design that can be converted to three cabins if the fourth is no longer required.

Bob Mulkearns, MD of North South Yachting (Australian importer of Bavaria Yachts) saw the new 45 at the recent Dusseldorf show in Germany. Mulkearns said:

'We're very excited about this model as it represents a real stride forward in this size range. With the option of three or four double cabins, it suits a variety of market requirements and we're confident a Farr designed yacht will be pretty quick so it will suit the race-a-cruiser sailors very well too. Bavaria's incredible economies of scale and efficiency of production mean the value is fantastic putting it well within range of buyers of say 42'-43' yachts who will get real bang for their buck and a bigger boat to boot.'

Patrick Shaughnessy, President of Farr Yacht Design, said of the launch of the Cruiser 45:

'...[The Cruiser 45] clearly demonstrates how the middle of the Cruiser line will answer for styling and aesthetics. It does all of those things with a level of performance, engineering, and safety that has been the signature of every Farr Yacht Design product. It's not always easy to be in the middle of a family; the oldest gets the praise, while the youngest gets the attention. The middle child has to go out every day and do the hard work in order to get recognized. The new Bavaria Cruiser 45 is a boat designed to do that hard work, and to do it very well.'

The new Cruiser 45 will be on display alongside the scintillating Cruiser 32 on A arm of the marina at Sanctuary Cove. Contact North South Yachting to register your interest in the new models.
