Marine tourism projects in South Korea - opportunities for Australia

Korea has a stunning coastline and many aspects of its culture centred around water. MIAA
Korea’s trade and investment promotion agency, KOTRA, is seeking interested businesses or individuals to attend a presentation to be held in Sydney and on Queensland's Gold Coast of major marine tourism projects that are planned for construction in South Korea.
Representatives of three provincial governments will be visiting Sydney and the Gold Coast in April in order to introduce the projects to Australian companies, property developers and investors and receive expressions of interest.
From a low base, the marine tourism sector is expected to show significant growth in South Korea in coming years and local companies are actively looking for expert overseas partners. Australia is recognised for its high level of capability and experience in the area.
The six projects that will be featured are:
• Daebu-Sungam Island Development Project
Amusement park, hotel, golf course, residential housing, sea sports academy, waterfront facilities, shopping mall, sea water therapy and spa.
• Asian Village of Culture
Exhibition halls, education centre, shopping outlets, entertainment precinct, waterfront facilities.
• Sokcho Beach Resort
Aquatic beach club, deep seawater park, aqua condominium, shopping facilities, theme park. Project budget US$183 million.
• East Sea Tourism Theme Park
Eco-park, shopping mall, sea-world, condominium, golf course, sea entertainment facility. US$350 million.
• Donghae Mangsang Beach Resort
Condominium, shopping mall, corporate village, healing centre, marine sports facility, seawater spa. US$106 million.
• Masan Gusan Marine Tourist Complex
Hotel, golf course, ocean sports park, marina, wellness centre, water world. US$ 1,204 million.

Hyatt Regency, Sanctuary Cove, Wednesday 14 April, 10.20am – 12.00pm
Sydney Harbour Marriott, Thursday 15 April, 10.20am – 12.00pm
After each presentation, the Korean delegation invites attendees to join them for lunch and, in the afternoon, meet individually to discuss your company’s specific interest.
