Sharon Russell first female president of Marine Qld

In an industry first, Sharon Russell from Riviera Syndication has been elected as the first female President of Marine Queensland. Her election is also a first for the marine industry nationally.

Marine Queensland has elected a new Board at its Annual General Meeting at the Tinnie and Tackle Show, 19 March 2010.

Sharon Russell was first elected to the Marine Queensland Board on 2006 and was elected as Vice President in 2009.

Sharon is a Director of Riviera Syndication, which specializes in the syndication of Riviera Cruisers worldwide and owns a travel agency to look after Riviera Syndication owners. Sharon along with her husband John owned and ran Boatshare Australia, Yachtshare and John Crawford Marine until they sold those to concentrate on Riviera Syndication.

Sharon grew up in a high performance engine building and boat racing (Waggott) family in Sydney, having competed in NSW, QLD and Australian outboard racing championships.
