Big crowds at the 2009 Tinnie and Tackle show and as confidence returns more expected in 2010 Bob Wonders
The 2010 Tinnie and Tackle Show, organised by Marine Queensland and staged in conjunction with the National Four Wheel Drive Show, is set to show solid expansion when it opens on Friday (March 19) for its annual three-day exhibition. .

As usual, the action takes place at the RNA Showgrounds, Brisbane, affectionately known to locals as ‘the Ekka.'

According to Marine Queensland's Jason Plant, this year's show has attracted an exhibitor list 30 percent up on last year. 'At present, we can confirm 102 Marine Queensland exhibitors, which, when combined with the 4 x 4 segment means there'll be more than 200 displays on view for show visitors,' he said.

'Last year, there were only 72 Marine Queensland visitors, so to leap from 72 to 102 is a very pleasing result,' he added.

Some show visitors will remember the show for a very good reason' someone will win a Stacer ‘tinnie' powered by a reliable Honda outboard.

Other attractions include the popular Yamaha Supertank and the Club Marine Fishing Expo, where visitors can learn all there is to know about such angling segments as lure fishing, beach fishing and fish cooking.

'Brisbane's top marine dealers will be displaying boats, marine engines, electronics, boat trailers and all manner of general boating accessories and equipment,' Jason Plant added.

'Top that off with plenty of canoes, kayaks, fishing tackle, nautical sportswear and we can really claim this to be show with something to interest everyone,' he said.

The Tinnier and Tackle Show will be open 9am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday and 9am to 5pm on Sunday.

Admission charges are $12 (single adult) and $10 (concession), with children under 15-years admitted free.
