BYC Announces Velocitek as a Sponsor for LYRA Regatta

by Buffalo Yacht Club on 2 Mar 2010
Buffalo Yacht Club MIAA
The Buffalo Yacht Club is happy to announce Velocitek as a sponsor to this years LYRA regatta. All boats registered prior to July 15th will be entered into a drawing to win a Velocitek SC-1. In addition all participating boats will recieve a coupon code for a 10% discount to order any Velocitek product online. Go to www.velocitek.com to check out all their cool products and see what others are saying about them. This is just one more reason why you want to put the LYRA on your schedule as this year's MUST DO regatta.

The dates are July 27 - August 1, 2010

'I was amazed how well the starting line function worked. The unit gave fantastic starting line information and we were effectively able to use this in the final seconds before the gun. It was as good as having a full big-boat instrumentation package running Deckman for Windows or Expedition.'
-Chris Larson (2009 Melges 24 World Champion)

'At the Melges24 North Americans we relied on the SC-1 to help us determine how much current we were sailing in. Since the SC-1 accurately shows the direction that the boat is traveling, rather than where the bow is aimed, we
could determine if the current was pushing us to the lay lines or holding us off. This feature was key to helping us win the North Americans on a very tricky Chesapeake Bay with lots of shifts, strong currents, and tough
competition.'
-Scott Nixon, Tactician - USA751 Quantum Racing (2008 Melges 24 North American Champion)
