Divisional winners in the BMW Auckland Regatta will be eligible to advance to the BMW Sailing Cup. This will see competitors sailing off in identical Farr MRX yachts for the honour of representing New Zealand in the BMW Sailing Cup World Final. Please note: the BMW Sailing Cup and the BMW Sailing World Final are open to amateur sailors only.

New Zealand are the current holders of the BMW Sailing World Cup after Roger Pagani and his Triple 8 crew won the 2008 event at Lake Garda, Italy. New Zealand will play host to the 2010 BMW Sailing Cup World Final, which will be held in Auckland on March 22 - 25. Crews from Germany, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain and Hong Kong are expected to compete.

Hong Kong will be represented by Team Jelik, who won the match racing sail-off after last year’s BMW Autumn Regatta at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club.

Team Jelik comprises:

Tiffany Koo (Skipper and Helm)
Louie Perfectua (Mainsheet trimmer)
Jeremy Koo (Jib trimmer, Tactician)
Frederick Bobot Maglangton (Mast)
Elbert Totong Lagamut (Mast alternate)
Rafael Buitre (Bow)
