by Sail-World Staff on 28 Jan 2010
Dufour 405 SW
The European professional sailing press elected the Dufour 405 Grand’Large at the Düsseldorf Boot show on January 23rd as European Boat of the Year 2010. The trophy was awarded in the most competitive category, namely the one for cruising yachts.

To become European Boat of the Year is the ultimate recognition in the nautical world.

The Dufour 405 Grand’Large was already very successful on the market thanks to undeniable qualities such as its elegance, comfort, performance and the remarkable sense of detail in its construction.

Let us underline the many assets of the Dufour 405: a fast hull, an innovating design, interior volume, the ergonomics of a clear deck and a comfortable cockpit for all, as well as easy manoeuvring whatever the weather.

The interior has been designed with a focus on light - generated by the many hull windows and eight deck hatches - and extreme comfort. The fully equipped kitchen comes complete with cupboards, Corian® countertops and many accessories, including a wine cellar. Premium materials such as Moabi wood with wenge inserts are used throughout.

Dufour Yachts is very proud to have its 405 Grand Large awarded with the European Boat of the Year 2010 trophy by the international nautical press, which is without doubt the highest recognition of the standards and quality of all Dufour sailing yachts.

The Dufour Yachts range

The Performance range – 34E, 40E, 45E – The excitement of great performance and the pleasure of on-board comfort.

The line incorporates a suite of innovations designed for maximum performance. The deck layout and hull lines are conceived for fast cruising and regatta sailing The design has been proven by the excellent results the Performance range has obtained in competition, however, on-board comfort and liveability hasn’t been sacrificed on these 3 boats. The space has been used perfectly thanks to the low shelves in the saloon and the warm, high quality interior layout.

The Grand’Large range – 325, 365, 405, 425, 455, 485, 525 – The harmony of adventure and comfort. This range of sail boats excels at coastal as well as blue-water cruising with maximum comfort and space. On board, the purity of the lines and the refinement of the premium materials, rhyme with dynamism of the sailing experience. The Grand’Large speaks to each and every one of us, whatever his/her place on board, in the language of excitement!
