JCB, the UK based manufacturing giant of construction and agricultural machinery, has appointed Power Equipment as the exclusive Distributor of their range of premium quality JCB DieselMax engines for the territories of Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

The JCB DieselMax is the world's fastest diesel engine having set the world land speed record for diesel engines recently at a speed of 563.418 km/h (350.092 mph). The successful record attempt was initiated by JCB to showcase the extreme performance capability of the JCB DieselMax engine which normally powers off-highway equipment for construction, agricultural, industrial and power generation applications.

Power Equipment has achieved an enviable reputation as the authorised Distributor of Yanmar marine and industrial engines in Australia, NZ and the South Pacific.

According to Noel Heritage, Business Manager at Power Equipment, the new distribution agreement with JCB brings together two very ‘like minded' companies in Power Equipment and JCB.

'This is a perfect, complimentary fit for both Power Equipment and JCB,' Noel Heritage said. 'Both companies are simply committed to excellence in everything they do and we are truly delighted to have this agreement with such a great like minded company in JCB'.

The JCB DieselMax engines are manufactured to the highest standards and are proudly all British built. These are derivatives of the exact same engines that are used to power many of JCB's market leading range of construction and materials handling equipment. Similarly, the Yanmar diesel engines enjoy a reputation for superior quality, durability and reliability.

'Moreover, the JCB and Yanmar brands sit very comfortably alongside each other.

The Yanmar range of industrial diesel engines begins with 2.3 kW single cylinder engines and runs up to multi cylinder diesels with a power rating of up to 63 kW. The JCB DieselMax range now extends that range up to engines of 120kW output.

'Power Equipment can now supply loose diesel engines for pumping, power generation, agriculture and industrial applications with a seamless range from the 2.3 kW all the way through to 120 kW.'

The JCB DieselMax range of engines includes naturally aspirated, turbo charged plus turbocharged and intercooled four cylinder configurations. Environmental compliance is well to the fore at JCB with all models at least Tier 2 if not Tier 3 compliant.

The agreement with JCB DieselMax is effective January 1st 2010 and the first shipment of JCB DieselMax engines is expected arrive into the Power Equipment warehouse by the end of February.

'We are delighted with our contract with JCB,' Noel Heritage concluded.

'We see that there is a great opportunity to supply Australian manufacturers and operators with the premium quality JCB DieselMax diesel engines of larger output than our traditional offerings. At Power Equipment we will utilise our existing dealership network and sales force to represent the JCB DieselMax brand alongside the Yanmar brand.'

Power Equipment is the exclusive and authorised Australian, NZ, PNG and South Pacific distributor of Yanmar Marine and Industrial diesel engines importing product from Yanmar plants in Japan, Asia, USA and Europe. Power Equipment is also the authorised distributor of JCB DieselMax engines. Power Equipment also distribute the Yanmar powered MASE diesel marine generators range and Gori high quality folding sailboat propellers.
