Take a trip to virtual boat shows

The future of boat shows will move online with the launch of BoatShowsatHome.com, a virtual boat show, in early 2010.

Boat Shows at Home was founded and developed by Warren Kelly of Vernon Promotions and Gene Allen of Allen Roche Marine (a division of the Allen Roche Group), both based in Boston.

Kelly has more than 25 years experience as a show producer and 38 years as owner of an award-winning Northeast boat dealership. Allen has spent more than a quarter-century as partner in a leading advertising agency that specializes in boat-dealer accounts. Together they have the marine-industry expertise to meet the needs of both boat retailers and boating consumers.

'Our combined backgrounds as show producer, boat retailer and marketing and design firm give us a unique ability to develop a user-friendly site that focuses on specific markets, catering to individual consumers’ boating areas, rather than the global market areas that exist on most of today’s sites,' says Kelly.

Boat Shows at Home will bring together boat buyers and boat dealers through a year-round virtual boat show with the look and feel of an actual boat show.

'The graphics and the navigation throughout the site, as well as the steps involved in the boat-buying process, have all been taken into consideration in the development of the site,' Kelly adds.
