Seawind Catamarans will launch its new Seawind 1250 flagship at the Melbourne International Boat & Lifestyle Festival next month.

Fresh from successful sea trials, the brand new 1250 embodies 27 years of multihull experience by Australia’s biggest sailboat builder.

It has arrived in Melbourne well in advance of its public showing at the Boat & Lifestyle Festival at Docklands from 5 to 7 February.

Seawind has developed the 1250 as an ocean going catamaran that offers the highest level of engineering, quality finish and performance.

It is built in a brand new facility in Wollongong, Australia using a climate controlled resin infusion lamination bay for the superior fibreglassing quality and strength essential in a blue water cruiser.

The Seawind 1250 shares much with the acclaimed Seawind 1160, such as tri-folding doors, great open space, 360 degree view, and saloon table that converts into a coffee table or a bed.

Where it differs is in its larger length, beam, height, rig, sails, fuel tanks, storage lockers and head height, plus it offers a new twin helm with excellent weather protection, a sky window to view the sails and optional raised seats for cruising comfort.

Other features include a wider targa catwalk for extra solar panels, a larger targa walking platform, bow seats, larger trampolines, an open bottom transom step for easy boarding from dinghies, larger optional motors, a new day bed and navigation desk in the saloon, and an optional galley up layout.

Combined with some clever and innovative design layouts, this bold blue water performer is equally at home as a harbour entertainer or charter boat, and the first eight boats are already sold.

Melbourne International Boat & Lifestyle Festival is organised by the Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIA) and runs from Friday 5 February to Sunday 7 February, 2010. Opening hours are 10am to 6pm daily except Friday, when the show closes at 8pm.
