Beneteau First 36.7 'Team Revolution' (Manfredo Toninelli) has won this year's Rolex IMS Offshore World Championships, held 18th - 25th May, hosted by the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club in the waters of Capri, Italy. This annual event is a major rendezvous for the world's top sailors and this year's regatta was no exception.
In weather conditions ranging from 10 to 15 knots, Italian owned First 36.7 'Team Revolution' dominated Division B, finishing first overall, ahead of mainly professionally crewed boats. Having raced a successful campaign, owner/skipper Toninelli and his crew aboard 'Team Revolution' have once again proven the winning qualities of this Bruce Farr designed hull.
Sydney based First 36.7 'Peugeot Racing' (Peter Whitford) continues to race exceptionally well in the 2002 BMW Sydney Winter Series held by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.
Following a competitive race last Sunday resulting in a second place, 'Peugeot Racing' is currently in 1st position in the overall point score for Division C. This success follows the 36.7's win in the Metal Mesh Cup - Beneteau Regatta, Spinnaker Division held on 4th May.
