Marine retail brand Sturrocks is showing its commitment to the future of the Australian sailing community by teaming up with the Middle Harbour Yacht Club (MHYC) for a unique initiative.
The pair first joined forces last weekend (November 28 and 29) when the Northern suburbs-headquartered brand staged a unique sale as part of the Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship (SORC) hosted by MHYC. The initiative was so successful the duo has decided to extend the sale indefinately.
Sturrocks operations manager Evan Sturrock said the project would see a range of apparel sold at a discount of up to 75 percent off its normal recommended retail price with featured labels including Musto, Helly Hansen and Line 7. A percentage of all sales will be donated to support the club’s junior sailing development programs, he said.
SORC has grown to be one of Australia’s largest grand prix yacht racing championships. Often referred to as the 'Hobart Form Guide', the Sydney SORC kicks off a month of yacht racing culminating with the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race and Pittwater Coffs Series.
Established in 2004 as a sister brand to the famed Sturrocks Chandlery in Rushcutters Bay, labels carried by the Sturrocks stores include Musto, Sail Racing, Dubarry, Helly Hansen, SLAM, Ortlieb, Zhik, TBS, Sebago, Sperry, Harken, Seal Skinz, Puma Footwear, Paul & Shark, Henri Lloyd and Gill.
Sturrocks is open every day of the week at shop 1, 555 Military Road, Mosman. A second store is due to open next week in Sydney’s Balmain shopping precinct.
