MTU Detroit Diesel Australia extends Kohler range

by MTU Detroit Diesel Australia on 30 Nov 2009
Kohler onboard marine generator for commercial craft - MTU Detroit Diesel Australia extends Kohler range SW
MTU Detroit Diesel Australia has strengthened its position in the marine market by becoming the sole distributor of the full range of Kohler marine generators, effective 1 November 2009.

The Kohler range is suitable for all applications, with the 4.5 kW-500 kW band a popular choice for all types of pleasure craft, super yachts, commercial vessels and work boats.

Dominic White, MTU Detroit Diesel Australia’s Marine Market Development Manager, says the company is well-placed to take on the Kohler range.

'Our customers can continue to purchase Kohler products from the existing Kohler network but will now get additional support through 21 company-owned branches nationwide, including five marine dedicated service facilities.'

'The inclusion of Kohler marine generators to our existing product range, especially those in the lower kilowatt spectrum, means we can provide a total package solution for Australian marine operators as well as complete aftermarket service for our customers,' he said.

MTU Detroit Diesel Australia will maintain the existing Kohler reseller network and will extend the Kohler range of low CO, gasoline and diesel generators to its branches.

The Kohler agreement follows last year’s successful launch of the commercial onboard marine generator range in Australia, and further supports MTU Detroit Diesel Australia’s growth in the marine market.

The appeal of offshore
Is there still appeal? Have we made it too onerous? Why would someone take it up now? I had been pondering. Yes. Marquee events have no issue attracting entrants.
