Breaking News - Geoff 'Megga' Bascome has died at sea, doing a yacht delivery off Borneo.

The Australian Sailing community has lost possibly its most colourful character.

Friend to thousands and so willing to give of his time and knowledge. At least he was doing his favourite thing - out covering lots and lots of blue water miles.

Our condolences to his Mother, Daughter and Son.

The great man will live on and not just for the BBQ held in his name each year by the Port Lincoln Yacht Club.

We dont know how many delivery trips Megga did and how many hundreds of thousands of sea miles he has sailed but we will no doubt be given an idea, while we are assembling stories and images, a tribute to Megga.

All contributions will be appreciated and laughed over, 'cause that is what Megga would want us to do!!
