SIBEX - China (Shenzhen) International Boat Show

by SIBEX-GPO on 8 Nov 2009
Shenzhen Boat Show MIAA
12-15 November 2009 – the reference show for China and South East Asia – showcasing international brands, with water activities and sea trials.

The 2009 edition of SIBEX (China (Shenzhen) International Boat Show) is a coordinated event involving Shenzhen Yubo Exhibition Group, Exposalons and Grand Pavois Organisation (GPO), organizer of the International Afloat Boat Show the Grand Pavois in La Rochelle (France). GPO will be supporting commercial, logistical and communications for the International development of SIBEX.

Yubo Exhibition Group and Grand Pavois Organisation are gathering together to promote, enhance and develop the emerging Chinese boating market. The goal is to make SIBEX the 'reference' boat show for China and South East Asia.

There was strong brand presence at SIBEX 2008, including Luhrs, Sunbird, Azimut, Heibao, Sinhe, Sease, and King Bay. In 2009 there will be many new and international brands at the show: Rotoplus, Nautylis, Princess, Sunsekeer, Adagio, Marquis, Ferretti, Riviera, Technicarbone, Jeanneau, Beneteau, Lagoon, Cranchi, Atlantis, X-Yachts, Archambault, Hanse, Nautitech, Regal, and Sea Ray. On land exhibitors include Wauquiez, Leopard Catamarans, Rotomod, Cubisystem, Azurmarina, Poralu Marine, NDA, Solalelouna, Cyclone, Kingsway Marine, Aloha Beach Club, F2N, Porsche Shenzhen Center, Windward Islands, HK Catamarans and Speedo Marine.

SIBEX will also provide an opportunity for visitors to discover water-borne activities, and try out for themselves kayaking, stand-up paddle-boards, and sports catamarans. Interested visitors should visit the International Pontoon. Sailing schools and windsurfing clubs will also be present at the show..

For the duration of SIBEX, Cubisystem pontoons will connect the two exhibition pontoons in Dameisha Marina, allowing visitors to move easily from one pontoon to another.

A delegation from the Charente-Maritime (France) will be represented at the show, and many businesses will be represented both ashore and afloat. Companies as Fountaine-Pajot, RM Fora Marine, Rhea Marine, Tag Yachting, Nautitech, Dufour Yachts, RFTRONIC, Multitrans and Latitude 46 will present their know-how and willingness to develop trade relations with Asia.

With high rates of growth per year, rising average incomes, an increasing number of billionaires and ever-increasing disposable income, China and many Asian countries have a considerable development potential, making it a right market for French and international industry. Now the third-biggest luxury market in the world after the USA and Japan, in 2008 China had over 500,000 US$ millionaires, and the rate of growth for the luxury sector is estimated to be in excess of 30% in 2009.

With 14,500 km of coastline and 122,000 km of rivers and waterways, China has a maritime zone favourable for navigation. Finally, the number of development projects is exponential and around 40 marinas projects are now known.

Shenzhen is located in Guangdong province in southern China. This city was born only 30 years ago, and already has a population of more than 13 million inhabitants. Shenzhen is now one of the 'economic capitals' of China, and has become a hub for high technology industries, electronics and real estate. In addition, Shenzhen is ideally located with the immediate proximity with Hong Kong and major Chinese cities, a navigation zone with great potential, access to both Shenzhen and Hong Kong international airports, Yantian container port, luxury hotels and international trade influence.
