With high rates of growth per year, rising average incomes, an increasing number of billionaires and ever-increasing disposable income, China and many Asian countries have a considerable development potential, making it a right market for French and international industry. Now the third-biggest luxury market in the world after the USA and Japan, in 2008 China had over 500,000 US$ millionaires, and the rate of growth for the luxury sector is estimated to be in excess of 30% in 2009.
With 14,500 km of coastline and 122,000 km of rivers and waterways, China has a maritime zone favourable for navigation. Finally, the number of development projects is exponential and around 40 marinas projects are now known.
Shenzhen is located in Guangdong province in southern China. This city was born only 30 years ago, and already has a population of more than 13 million inhabitants. Shenzhen is now one of the 'economic capitals' of China, and has become a hub for high technology industries, electronics and real estate. In addition, Shenzhen is ideally located with the immediate proximity with Hong Kong and major Chinese cities, a navigation zone with great potential, access to both Shenzhen and Hong Kong international airports, Yantian container port, luxury hotels and international trade influence.
