Kids - wondered what it's like to sail? Try Sailing Day - it's free!

Sunday 1 November 2009, 10AM to 4PM, is an opportunity for you to try sailing at one of 29 clubs across NSW and the ACT for free!

Those intending to test their skills (or lack of!) need no appointment, simply turn up on the day at one of the participating clubs of your choice and register.


This day is primarily aimed at kids dinghy sailing. A parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 18.

You will be warmly welcomed by the club to try your hand at various club boats under the instruction from sailing members.

On the day make sure you wear:

*comfortable clothing - for example, cotton trousers/shorts, t-shirt/polo & bring something warm.
*suitable footwear - non-slip shoes with white soles if possible (black soles mark the deck). No bare feet or thongs permitted.
*a hat
*sunglasses
*sunscreen
*bring a bottle of water

This is the 13th year that Try Sailing Day has run. This annual event is organised by the Boating Industry Association of NSW Ltd and supported by Yachting NSW. The Boating Industry Association also organises the Sydney International Boat Show.
