Australasia’s leading marine lifestyle publication, Club Marine Magazine will produce the Official 2010 Audi Victoria Week Program, which will be incorporated within the December 2009/January 2010 edition of the magazine. An additional 3000 copies will be distributed free during Audi Victoria Week.

The announcement represents a huge increase in the exposure and promotion of the event over previous years.

Not only will copies of the Program be distributed at the regatta, it will also be seen by more than 80,000* subscribers and more than 250,000 readers of Club Marine Magazine throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Audi Victoria Week is the largest event of its kind in the southern hemisphere. It is older than the Melbourne Cup, attracts more competitors than the 2006 Commonwealth Games and has more attendees than the AFL Grand Final.

'We warmly welcome confirmation that Club Marine will be the publisher of the Official 2010 Audi Victoria Week Program,' said Audi Victoria Week Event Coordinator, Doug Jarvis. 'Our association will see the Official Program feature in the December/January edition of the fabulous Club Marine Magazine. Audi Victoria Week heralds an exciting new era and we very much look forward to promoting the brand to a larger audience. I urge all involved with the event to support this inaugural program.'

From January 21 to 26 2010, Australia’s biggest and oldest keelboat regatta will draw competitors and spectators from across Australia and around the world. More than 450 yachts and around 4500 sailors are expected to compete across a range of events spread from Melbourne to Geelong, with an estimated 100,000 visitors expected to head for the Geelong waterfront for the main events over the Australia Day weekend.

The Official Audi Victoria Week Program will capture all aspects of this incredible celebration of sail, and will include a full schedule covering both the Melbourne Docklands and Geelong races, as well as the many social occasions that make this event so unique. In addition, the Program will showcase local attractions and carry other editorial focusing on various aspects of this spectacular event.

The December/January edition of Club Marine Magazine incorporating the Program will be distributed throughout Australia and New Zealand beginning in the last week of November. The advertising booking deadline is 30 October.

The appeal of offshore
Is there still appeal? Have we made it too onerous? Why would someone take it up now? I had been pondering. Yes. Marquee events have no issue attracting entrants. Middle Sea, Transpac, Cape to Rio, Fastnet, and Hobart all spring to mind instantly, but what of the ‘lesser' races? Lots of boats in pens (slips) a lot of the time
