Canadian Meredith Megarry sails 2009 Renaissance Re Junior Gold Cup

The 2009 Renaissance Reinsurance Invitational Junior Gold Cup organized by the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, Hamilton, Bermuda starts today!

There is a Canadian representative in the field, Meredith Megarry, a member of the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club who currently sails an Optimist.

Meredith grew up at various yacht clubs, watching her father and brother race competitively. She got her first boat at the age of 10 and began racing at RHYC in 2005. Meredith also skis competitively and plays soccer, volleyball and track at school.

Meredith was the fifth placed Canadian and tenth overall at the Canadian Opti Championships.
