SW
Platu 25 World Championship report.
Today the Spanish crews realised the end plan, conquering the first five positions in the Group A that coincides with the Gold list. After three regattas with a generous wind of 15-18 Knots, VilaGarcia' of Anton and Carlos Paz achieved the top of the Gold List.
'VilaGarcia' is followed, on the same points, by 'Tuypan Caixanova Men' (Marcos Perez and Roy Alonso). In fourth h place, just 4 points distance, is 'Central Lechera Asturiana' (Natalia Via Dufresne). So the struggle for the first positions is between the Spanish crews; considering even the fifth and sixth places are for the Spanish 'Bribon-Movistar' (José Cusì) and for 'La Revoltosa' (Jaime Pont).
Big recovery today for the Greek crew of 'Modus Vivendi- 3 Alfa' (Kostas Karageorgiou) – the 2008 Platu 25 World Champion – first place in the last race but todayachieving a good sixth place in the Gold List.
The Spanish 'Iberdrola' of Manuel Weiler that yesterday managed very well, today slipped to seventh place, followed by the Spanish HST of the C.D. HST Racing and by the Italian 'Nanuk' di Gianrocco Catalano with Luigi Ravioli at the helm, now struggling for the ninth position against the German 'Flexi' of Manfred Bogdahn.
If the Spanish supremacy remains the same as yesterday, today there were big changes for other crews like 'Brera Hotels' of Emanuele Vitrano, with Alberto Wolleb at the helm and Sandro Montefusco as a tactitian.
Yesterday 'Brera Hotels' was in the fourth position in the general ranking list and now slips to the 15th place in the Gold list, because of a disqualification of three races on the second day of the World Championship.
'Bros' from Japan and 'Oceanbridge' from New Zealand are placed in the Gold List (20 and 21st place). The Danish also entered the Gold List with 'Gisele B' and the Swiss with 'Aramis'.
In the Group B coinciding with the Silver List, in the first place is the young boys of 'Bambolina' from the Lake of Como who today competed three very good races. In second place – with the same score – is the German 'Helga B' of the Stuttgarter Segel Club.
In third place is the Spanish 'Xacobeo 2010 Galicia' of the l Real Club Nautico followed by another team from the Lake of Como, Bambolina' (Molfino brothers).
Tomorrow there will be a big struggle between the Spanish crews for the podium. If the wind is generous there could be another three races. By the late afternoon, we’ll know the name of the new Platu 25 World Champion.
