Platu 25 World Championship day three report.
At last a generous wind allowed the 92 crews that are taking part in the Platu 25 World Championship in Punta Ala (September 27- October 3) to compete three exiting regattas. Today there are three Spanish boats at the top of the general ranking list. After a strong dominance in the Group A (Yellow) and B (Blue) in the last two days, the 'Invincible Armada' confirms its strong potential.
At the end of seven regattas in three days (with a discard), 'Iberdrola' of Manuel Weiler, World Champion in Vigo in 2006, is at the top of the general ranking list with 18 points; yesterday 'Iberdrola' managed also very well in the Group B with two first places. 'Tuypan Caixanova Men' of Marcos Perez and Roy Alonso has to be content with a second place, renouncing to the first place of yesterday. The third place is also for an other Spanish: 'VilaGarcia' that today managed very well with a 1-2-3 place.
'Brera Hotels' of Emanuele Vitrano, with Alberto Wolleb at the helm and Sandro Montefusco as a tactitian has to accept the 4th place, with just 2 points of difference from 'VilaGarcia'. Vis' of Francesco Vallicelli is at 5th place, followed by two Spanish crews: 'Bribon- Movistar' of José Cusi, with Marc de Antonio at the helm, and 'La Revoltosa' of Jaime Pont. The German boat 'Kyra' of Herman Muller slips to the 8th position flollowed by the Spanish Natalia Via Dufresne leader of 'Central Lechera Asturiana' and by the G erman 'Mojito' of Hauke Moje.
Today took place the last regattas for the qualification in the Gold and Silver Fleet. Tomorrow morning it will be possible to know the two fleets that will face each other in the next two days. There will be for sure a big fight between Spanish and Italian crews in order to conquer the first positions.
